Ellington Mataya is an accomplished operations executive with over three decades of experience in the tobacco and agribusiness sectors. As Chief Operations Officer at MMC Laboratories, he oversees strategic planning, production efficiency, and end-to-end supply chain management, ensuring the company meets the highest standards in quality and compliance.
Before joining MMC, Ellington served as Operations Director at Premium Tobacco Company, where he led the operationalisation of a major processing facility and managed large-scale agronomy and manufacturing programs. His career also includes senior roles at Alliance One Tobacco and Limbe Leaf Tobacco, where he was instrumental in customer account management, international sales, and operational excellence.
Ellington has received extensive training in the USA, Zimbabwe, India, and South Africa, and holds executive education credentials from the University of Cape Town Business School and the Malawi Institute of Management.
